Maintaining and interpreting our history in Bigelow House is a community effort! There are many ways you can help. All training and support provided! Contact:
Event/Tour Coordinators needed! Arrange tours, coordinate volunteers and manage events both on and off site. Provide access to Bigelow House for school tours and other groups and help keep Bigelow House open and available for visitors.
Membership Drive Manager As a private non-profit, major funding for Bigelow House is maintained through our annual membership drive. A great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in database management and direct-mail fundraising.
Docents - Tour Guides We always need volunteers to provide guided tours of the house, gardens, and Bigelow Spring park.
Gardening and Maintenance Volunteers gather at the Bigelow House at 9:00am on the first Saturday of each month to tend the flowerbeds— including perennials and roses, fruit trees, and evergreens. We also make small repairs, paint, and perform other tasks as needed. Please notify us in advance if you plan to attend as our schedule sometimes changes.
Research and Artifact Processing The are numerous possibilities for research projects associated with the Bigelow family, community history, and artifacts. In addition, many artifacts associated with the Bigelow Family and Olympia History await formal processing and Cataloging. If you have a specific interest or would like to tackle one of the many projects we haven’t gotten to yet, we would love your help! |
